We’re looking for our next Children’s Ministry Coordinator and Head Godly Play Storyteller!

Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton, MA is seeking a Children’s Ministry Coordinator and head Godly Play Storyteller. We are a small parish with a growing youth program, looking to bring in new energy to nurture our youth. The ideal candidate would be kind and loving with an abundance of patience and enthusiasm. Children are welcome to come as they are, wiggles and all, and be loved and respected every time they come to Trinity Stoughton!

Job Responsibilities 

  • Prepare annual calendar of lessons

  • Prepare and lead Godly Play lessons 3 weeks per month

  • Manage schedule of doorperson coverage

  • Manage classroom work supplies and weekly snacks

  • Be responsible for keeping classroom clean and well organized

  • Join parish fellowship following service to engage with families

  • Communicate with Rector and families about lessons, activities, schedules

  • Meet with Rector monthly for joint planning, coordination and supervision

  • Prepare weekly follow up content for social media to keep community informed

  • Support parents and welcome new families to the parish 

  • Plan and participate in periodic youth-based outings or events outside Sunday service time. Examples: summer bonfire night, bowling fellowship, Easter egg hunt, Christmas pageant, etc. Bring your own ideas too!

Details

  • Classroom attendance ranges from 5 – 12 children on a given Sunday

  • Ages range from 3 – 12 years

  • Except for Sunday mornings, hours are flexible. 

    • Sunday mornings 8:30am-11:00am (Godly Play from 9:00-10:00)

    • Lesson and classroom prep time per week estimated 2 hours

    • Social media and communications per week, estimated .5 hour.

    • Coordination with rector 1 hour monthly

  • Classes held September through mid-June.

  • Periodic attendance at summer youth and family based fellowship

Package Details 

  • Part-time position paying $5000 annually

  • $1000 classroom stipend for supplies reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport with children, youth, and families 

  • Classroom management skills

  • Great deal of flexibility and patience 

  • Strong communication and networking skills 

  • Candidates with experience teaching the Godly Play children’s formation program will be given special consideration 

  • Candidates with Montessori experience will be given special consideration

  • Reliable transportation

  • A CORI check and completion of Safe Church training will be required
